amplifiers , cabinets

throughout metallica s career, hammett has used range of different amplifiers. first 2 albums, used marshall amplifiers , cabinets, occasional effects. recording of metallica s third album, master of puppets (1986), , james hetfield bought mesa/boogie markiic+ amplifier, , used mesa/boogie dual rectifier heads. when made move randall amplifiers in 2007, still used mesa/boogie amplifiers in setup, , still day. uses 2 rackmounted dual rectifier 2-channel heads in tandem randalls.

in september 2007, randall amplifiers announced partnership hammett design line of signature amplifiers, heads, combos , preamp modules.

in december 2011, announced fortin amps team randall start new line of tube amplifiers based on fortin meathead amplifier. hammett using prototype of amplifier used big 4 show @ yankee stadium , of shows in india , asia, , sent second prototype.

effects

to avoid problems pedals being damaged during live performances, hammett keeps effect pedals in rack along amplifiers , guitar technician controls them through pedalboard sidestage. pedal controller allows him change between different effect pedals , amplifiers.

in 2008, jim dunlop started working in partnership hammett create signature wah-wah pedal, kh95. available buy in stores.
