in autumn of 1987, samaritan hospital nurse richard angelo ( angel of death ) arrested following urine analysis of samaritan patient geralomo kucich showed drugs pavulon , anectine in system. following arrest, remains of of patients angelo had treated exhumed , 10 of deceased patients tested positive drugs. angelo confessed authorities, telling them during taped interview, wanted create situation cause patient have respiratory distress or problem, , through intervention or suggested intervention or whatever, come out looking knew doing. had no confidence in myself. felt inadequate. charged multiple counts of second-degree murder , convicted of 2 counts of depraved indifference murder (second-degree murder), 1 count of second degree manslaughter, 1 count of criminally negligent homicide , 6 counts of assault respect 5 of patients , sentenced 61 years life.
