the elections held elect members of lok sabha after expiry of normal term of 5 years called general elections. elections state legislative assemblies may held along parliamentary elections. earlier 1957 simultaneous elections held both lok sabha , state assemblies. however, on account of dismissal , mid-term elections 2 got separated.the indian national congress won elections.
