the judeo-christian tradition has several scriptures related heterosexuality. genesis states god created man because not man should alone; make him meet him. now matters wrote about: man not marry. since there immorality, each man should have own wife, , each woman own husband. husband should fulfill marital duty wife, , likewise wife husband. wife s body not belong alone husband. in same way, husband s body not belong him alone wife. not deprive each other except mutual consent , time, may devote yourselves prayer. come again satan not tempt because of lack of self-control. concession, not command. for part, religious traditions in world reserve marriage heterosexual unions, there exceptions including buddhist , hindu traditions, unitarian universalist, metropolitan community church , anglican dioceses , quaker, united church of canada , reform , conservative jewish congregations.


almost religions believe lawful sex between man , woman allowed, there few believe sin, such shakers, harmony society, , ephrata cloister. these religions tend view sexual relations sinful, , promote celibacy. other religions view heterosexual relationships being inferior celibacy. religions require celibacy roles, such catholic priests; however, catholic church views heterosexual marriage sacred , necessary.
