operational history
world war ii

clarendon sailed san diego 6 february 1945 join amphibious exercises in hawaiian islands, sailed ulithi, late in march joined escort of convoy voyage saipan.


invasion of okinawa

returning ulithi, put sea 22 april carry combat cargo okinawa, off lay discharge 26 30 april. on 28th, drove away enemy aircraft intensive gunfire.


returning west coast 22 may 1945, clarendon made 3 voyages san diego , san francisco pearl harbor, carrying passengers , cargo in both directions. on 29 july got underway san francisco.


after hostilities

clarendon called @ eniwetok, ulithi, manila, , put tokyo 13 september. carried troops occupation of japan , in redeployment of forces in china until 15 november, when sailed taku load homeward bound troops @ samar, guam, saipan, , iwo jima on way san pedro, arrived 18 december.


decommission

in january 1946 sailed north seattle, decommissioned 9 april 1946, , transferred war shipping administration in june 1946. scrapped zidell, portland, or; scrapping completed 16 october 1964.


decorations

clarendon received 1 battle star world war ii service.
