the ohio horse park, located in franklin furnace, ohio, large 184 acre (745,000 m²) horse farm. contains outdoor show, dressage, indoor , indoor therapy arena. has 44 stalls show rental, 2 classrooms , 1 common area , camper hookups shows , travelers. home ohio university southern reproduction center, ohio horse park center therapeutic riding, ohio university southern equine studies program, ohio university southern southern equestrian teams, ohio university southern community lesson program, , events ten different organizations.
it offers rental of facilities shows , clinics public.
two disciplines of horseback riding @ 4 different levels taught @ horse park. in beginning level of either discipline, either hunt seat 1 or western 1, groundwork laid basic horse care, proper horse handling, , basic riding skills. riding classes become more difficult @ each subsequent level, , require more , more of student s time spent @ horse park.

the new proctorville branch of ohio university southern campus.
ohio university proctorville center began offering classes in trailers @ lawrence county fairgrounds @ proctorville in late-1970s. moved schools in chesapeake , @ fairland before opening new center on ohio state route 7 in downtown proctorville in 1992. increase in enrollment led cramped conditions , calls new facility.
in 2000, proctorville resident marshall l. smith donated land on ohio state route 775 new proctorville center. design work 17,000 sq ft (1,600 m). structure began in 2004. ground breaking new building held on july 12, 2005. completed in september 2006 $4.9 million, of came donations community. new, permanent structure includes 14 classrooms, including distance-learning room, computer lab, commons room , resource room. building named greg smith hall in honor of marshall l. smith s late son.
it offers numerous ohio university southern classes , many community-oriented classes, including ballroom dancing , computer basics.
