jgec offers students opportunity participate in on 14 active clubs , organizations focus on social, multicultural, political, professional, educational, athletic, community service, , wellness issues. participation in these organizations offers opportunity take part in activities interest them, affect change in campus , local community. college clubs form integral part of jgec student life. of them are:

centre innovation (cfi)

cfi founded in august, 2008. club in jgec campus autonomous. cfi headed student president. kinds of innovative activities in progress in cfi. namely, students design embedded robots manual robots. apart building robots, students business acumen can engaging in business plan activities. besides these, college radio radiojolite has been launched, broadcasting of various college events occur.

the cfi takes initiative organize sristi, annual techno-management fest of college. cfi has own experimental lab , construction of own building in progress beside college gymnasium.

the classes of cfi conducted in scheduled classes of mechanical engineering department. college s first quadcopter & flying model of aeroplane has been built cfi. cfi team participates in tech fests of premier engineering colleges iit kgp, iit guwahati, iit bombay, iit delhi , iit bhu , have bagged significant number of prizes. cfi organises special event exclusively civil engineers known bridge gap every year during sristi.

the magazine club of jgec 1 of oldest clubs of college aims @ promoting creative thinking amongst students , inculcate in them habit of writing.under guidance of magazine committee, annual college magazine published contains numerous technological , literary articles , sent alumni across globe , students , faculty of college , faculties internationally located.

coder s club

coders, open knowledge forum/club part of jgec targets @ increasing popularity of different computer languages amongst students , make them prepared different coding, debugging contests , many other competition related programming. coder s club regularly organizes programming competitions within campus.

the sports club functions under supervision of physical instructors , headed president nominated principal amongst members of faculty. college cricket , football teams selected club. college has 2 main functional stadiums- oval cricket , athletic stadium , football playground. every year jalpaiguri government engineering college organises annual sports meet in winter. jgec organises cricket premier league (cpl) , torneo de futbol every year, observes participation leading colleges in state.

trek goecha la(16406 ft) students of jgec

jgec trekking club 1 of popular clubs in campus being founded in 1989. students have achieved remarkable feats on years, of them goecha la(16406 ft), singalila ridge, sandakphu(11,929 ft— highest point in west bengal), falut (11800 ft), neora valley national park (10600 ft) , varsey rhododendron sanctuary.

photography club

photography club 1 of earliest clubs established, in 1965. since then, has relentlessly pursued excellence in field of film , digital photography. club organizes training programmes in photography techniques , development every year. activities not limited studio , darkroom. since college situated in beautiful natural surrounding, regular photographic expeditions organized.

music club

calliphony , music club of jalpaiguri government engineering college formed nurture musical talent among students. membership restricted students only.the annual music fest eagerly awaited feature among students.

the dance club @ jgec founded aim of exercising wonderful dance forms. dance club undertakes regular rehearsals , practise sessions nurture , enhance talents present in students of college.

drama club- azantrik

the drama club azantrik 1 of active clubs in jgec. nurtures talent of students in field of dramatics. annual drama , short film festival, held each year platform spectacular acting talents showcased , felicitated. every year team azantrik participates in inter-school , inter-college drama competition organised aneek theatre group @ yuva bharati krirangan annually. workshops on theatre , dramatics held each year under guidance of reputed theatre artists of north bengal.ananda bazar patrika, telegraph, uttarbanga sangbad etc. has visited during drama fest namely depicta .

communication cell

the communication cell @ jgec, formed in january, 2011, 1 of newly formed student run components of jgec body aims @ enhancing interaction amongst alumni , present students. aims establish healthy relationship other technical , non-technical institutes on nation. consistently maintains database of current students, alumni , other college information. interacts press , media regarding news , events of college.

jyoti- free night education center

jyoti free night education centre children run students of jalpaiguri government engineering college (jgec), under students-run society called centre of social welfare . jyoti founded group of students of jalpaiguri government engineering college batch of 2011 on 20 march 2010. there many poor villages surrounding jalpaiguri government engineering college, need earn money has left people uneducated , not receiving proper sense of education. reason behind creation of jyoti . jyoti operates main building premises fixed classes of mechanical engineering department , computer science , engineering department buildings. jyoti funded jalpaiguri government engineering college , jyoti has been allotted library use of teachers. teachers in jyoti students right first year fourth year. classes held on monday, wednesday, friday , saturday 1630 hrs 1930 hrs. special classes joint entrance examinations , jexpo provided poor students.
