the demolished, former location of mojo club (also on reeperbahn)


founded in 1989 , relocated reeperbahn in 1991, mojo club developed 1 of leading lights of hamburg nightlife, international reputation similar star club.


with characteristic “m”-logo, club became continental stage progressive london club sounds during 1990s.


the mojo club may seen german voice of dancefloor jazz , mastermind regarding modern breakbeat sounds acid jazz. performances of artists gokul vaika, massive attack, moloko, propellerheads, pizzicato five, roni size, goldie, e-z rollers kruder & dorfmeister, club ranked among protagonists of german club scene during 90s. furthermore, successful club compilations “electric mojo” , “dancefloor jazz” became known on years , highly innovative cultural program completed picture lectures “urban poetry” , “macht club” in 1993 or “le café abstrait” of raphaël marionneau, paved way chill out sound in 1996.


in april 2003 mojo club closed down , building torn down in 2009. today 3 different building units being under construction on premises of reeperbahn 1: twin tower office block, hotel , new mojo club.


in 2012 israeli version of mojo club opened in tel aviv city.
