history
1995 season

the rebels founded philip woodyard, marcus naylor , andrew flynn in 1995. joined 1995-1996 irish flag football league season. rebels had average season. highlight of season tie between devastators, cost devastators spot in playoffs. rebels voted best newcomer team award.


1996 season

the following year, rebels entered summer tournament , finished 3rd. year seen rebels quarterback, unable play, pulled out oversee team manager. in flag football league rebels secured first playoff spot in team history. managed reach final against pirates, lost touchdown. marcus naylor picked league mvp year also.


1998 season

in 1998-99 rebels played first full contact season in league. team managed al kelly. finished mid table.


2000 season

there no league in 2000 due lack of organisation in managagement.


2001 season

2001 saw league return again iafl. there 4 teams in league out of possible 6. rebels got shamrock bowl, beating carrickfergus knights 28-7.


2002 season

in 2002 rebels won 1 game in season, beating dublin dragons in last game of year. rebels played in charleroi cup, beating hosts 22-00 in final.


2003 season

hoping rebuild 2002, rebels lost close season opener knights. continued 9-game win streak, , once again reaching shamrock bowl against knights once again, beating them 24-12.


2004 season

in 2004 season, rebels continued tradition of introducing number of rookies once again. season saw rebels score 300 points , finish season record of 9-1 (inc playoff , final). won league title 1st time. retained shamrock bowl defeating rivals knights 24-22 in final. after trailing them 18pts @ half time, produced comeback deny them victory. rebels broke scoring record single game. scoring 88 points against admirals.


the dublin rebels participated in 2004 charleroi american football trophy tournament, held in charleroi, belgium on 25-26 june. participating teams dublin rebels, charleroi cougars, chevaliers d orleans, , lille vikings. rebels lost chevaliers d orleans team in first round, 26-8. lille vikings defeated charleroi cougars 18-6. in 3rd place playoff, rebels defeated charleroi cougars 20-0. chevaliers d orleans won final against lille vikings final score of 26-0.


2005 season

the 2005 season saw belfast bulls trying become first unbeaten team in league. rebels prevented happening beating them in final game of season. met each other again in shamrock bowl xix. rebels pulled off last minute comeback against bulls win. quarterback andy dennehy named game mvp.


2006 season

in 2006, rebels became first unbeaten team in iafl going 10-0, winning regular season games , winning playoffs , shamrock bowl 44-12 against ul vikings. linebacker ross mccooey named game mvp.


2007 season

in 2007, rebels failed reach shamrock bowl. beaten cork admirals in semi final 8-6.


2008 season

the next year, rebels finished 2008 season 7-1. rebels once again returned shamrock bowl face defending champions, ul vikings, rebels lost 14-12.


undergoing period of transition old guard younger core of talent, rebels progressed sufficiently reach shamrock bowl xxiii lost university of limerick vikings in sudden death overtime 9-6.


2009 season

another year of experience new generation of rebels provided keen edge team, edge propelled team perfect 8-0 regular season record. both offence , defence statistically being best in league throughout season tempo upped again in semi-final versus west dublin rhinos. rebels rolled comfortable 65-0 victory, racking ten touchdowns on way. victory set meeting in shamrock bowl xxiv rival vikings.


with vikings attempting equal rebels record of 4 championships in row, there added urgency challengers. on day rebels shone through @ tallaght stadium went on win 15-0 defensive brian carter being named games mvp.


2010 season

the 2010 rebels finished season giving 4.4 points per game, while amassing 41.9 points per game: both of team records.


2011 season

in 2011, rebels once again shamrock bowl champions, defeating vikings once more, time in morton stadium in santry, north dublin.


2016 season

in 2016, after going 7-1 in regular season home reverse versus defending champions belfast trojans being blemish, rebels went on defeat same opponent in shamrock bowl xxx in dramatic fashion.
