the parish church in settlement popular pilgrimage church. known our lady, star of sea church (slovene: cerkev sv. marije zvezde) , belongs roman catholic diocese of celje. has large nave 3 chapels on either side , 2 belfries on western facade. built until 1854 master builder matej medved on site of former three-nave renaissance church, burnt in fire in 1850. second church in hamlet of Šmiklavž dedicated saint nicholas. octagonal in floor plan added belfry , 2 rectangular chapels. built between 1869 , 1872. third church stands in zgornji dol , dedicated presentation of mary. erected in 16th century , redesigned in 19th century.
