kali temple, known locally agneri devi temple, dedicated hindu goddess kali, , situated around 0.5 kilometers chaukhutia, on jaurasi road, near dhudalia village on bank of ramganga river. every year ashtami mela (a fair) organised @ temple. thousands of people witness animal sacrifices, including buffaloes , goats, in navratris in month of march–april. lakhanpur temple 6 km chaukhutia in jaurasi-chaukhutia road. temple belongs katyuri kings. small fair held here every year in october–november. vaishno devi s temple , ancient forts , ruins of katyuri dynasty in area.


this agricultural valley, rice, wheat , mangoes grown. nearby towns include masi (13 km) , dwarahat (22 km). chaukhutia known vairaat. story present chaukhutia capital of king virata of mahabharata. pandav 5 brothers , wives took place, , when going heaven moksha stayed in area few days. bheem washed cloth in tadagtaal lake when leaving taal mark 4 finger hole in taal (lake) tadag river came there. meets in ramganga (the tadagtaal lake pure place in uttarakhand). smaller nainital lake.
