in local elections, 6 members elected forming local administration of nepal. elections held municipal assemblies in municipalities , village assemblies in rural municipalities. assembly comprises mayor (head in case of village assemblies) , deputy mayor (deputy head in village assemblies) ward chairman , members every ward of municipality. 2 ward members must female, 1 of whom must belong dalit community or minority group. elections held on basis of first past post system. recent local elections held in 2017.
