hk7 , ska4 military cameras

the hk7 put 7 cm tall 9 cm wide image on 80 mm film. has interchangeable lenses, 135 mm zeiss biotessar, second being either 240 mm f/4 meyer tele-megor or 250 mm f/5 schneider tele-xenar.


the ska4 has interchangeable film magazines, key feature of later hasselblad cameras.


1600 f , 1000 f

hasselblad s first civilian camera launched in 1948. born idea of victor hasselblad create ideal camera , 6×6 cm format focal-plane shutter slr camera 6 inches long. first known hasselblad camera later named 1600 f after highest shutter speed of 1/1600 sec , f focal plane . camera revolutionary time modular design allowed exchanging lenses, viewfinders , film magazines. shutter made of thin stainless steel light , durable enough withstand high acceleration forces of fast shutter.


the 1600 f cameras did show couple of problems (especially first series) number of changes introduced during production period lasted 1949–1953. 1600 f released kodak ektar 2.8/80 mm , ektar 3.5/135 mm lenses. prototypes made of ektar 6.3/55 mm , 5.6/254 mm lenses.


the successor of 1600 f 1000 f (1953–1957). 1000 f named after reduced shortest shutter speed of 1/1000 s. 1000 f has different shutter mechanism , proved more reliable , robust predecessor. during production of 1600 f, carl zeiss in oberkochen had become supplier of lenses 1600 f/1000 f cameras. zeiss supplied lenses distagon 5.6/60 mm, tessar 2.8/80 mm, sonnar 3.5/135, sonnar 4.0/250 , sonnar 5.6/250 mm. towards end of 1000 f production period dallmeyer 5.6/508 mm lens made cook , perkins, england, available, did not cover full film format.


hasselblad 1000 f , 1600 f cameras rare on secondhand market , not in working condition because of age, neglect, , lack of spare parts , qualified repairmen. many cameras suffer corrosion of chrome rims. lot of lenses suffer scratches, fungus, discoloration , separation. cameras in condition can therefore fetch high prices.


the 500 c produced replace f-series cameras. changed troublesome focal plane shutter leaf shutter in each c lens. camera has continued on 40 years minor improvements. variation of 500 c used nasa gemini , apollo missions. lenses made zeiss in germany 1600 f lenses made kodak.

the designation v-system not used until launch of h-system. name v system not created until development of h system ; new system premiering, hasselblad needed designation differentiate older product line. hasselblad v-system evolved out of victor hasselblad s desire develop small camera fast lenses , shutters, hand-holdable leica, larger film format. rolleiflex s 6×6 format deemed ideal: large enough provide high image quality, small enough fit inside compact camera. rolleiflex s leaf shutter lacked fast shutter speeds focal plane shutters provide, , neither leica rangefinder nor rolleiflex tlr provided the(ttl) through (taking) lens viewing slow use, big graflex slr provided. these considerations led 1600 f , flexible camera system includes interchangeable bodies, lenses, viewfinders, winders, film magazines , holders, , other accessories. problems focal plane shutters in 1600 f , 1000 f cameras , increasing importance of electronic flash led development of manual leaf shutter-based medium-format 6×6 (6×6 cm or 2¼×2¼ inches) 500 c slr camera in 1957 offered flash synchronization @ shutter speeds. 500 c joined motor-driven 500 el slr camera in 1964. these 2 cameras, superwide camera (swc) introduced in 1954 wide angle camera using carl zeiss biogon 38 mm f/4.5 lens , built-in levels exacting architecture photography, formed core of v-system , shared accessories (with few exceptions).


throughout life of v series, hasselblad incrementally updated cameras. 500 c gave way 500 c/m, 503 cx , 503 cxi, 501 c , 501 cm, , 503 cw basic manual. swc replaced swc/m, 903 swc, , 905 swc. 500 el s replacements included 500 el/m, 500 elx, 553 elx, , 555 eld. first introduced in 500 elx, ttl/otf (through lens/off film) flash metering feature of 503 cx, replaced 503 cxi , 503 cw. alongside these 500-series cameras, series of focal plane shutter cameras introduced. marked return victor hasselblad s original desire have small camera fast shutter speeds (1/2000 s) , fast lenses. 2000-series started 2000 fc, , progressed 2000 fc/m, 2000 fcw , 2003 fcw. though of 20 years between discontinuation of 1000 f , introduction of 2000 fc spent designing improved focal plane shutter, 2000-series again used corrugated metal foil material shutter curtains, though titanium replaced original stainless steel. before, metal shutter curtains proved quite damaged clumsy fingers, why 2000-series cameras except 2000fc have safety feature retracts shutter curtains magazine taken off. 2000-series cameras replaced 200-series cameras (with rubberized cloth shutter curtains), included 201 f, 202 fa, 203 fe, , 205 tcc/205 fcc. while 201 f manual control camera, other 3 200-series models added level of metering , exposure automation v series.


there 2 series of medium format view cameras developed related v series: flexbody , arcbody.


the last v-system camera, 503 cw, officially discontinued on april 29, 2013.


el series

in 1964, hasselblad started production of motorized camera, 500 el. apart housing incorporates motor drive , nicd batteries, camera similar in appearance , operation hasselblad 500 c , uses same magazines, lenses , viewfinders. camera , successors:

have been , still used workhorses in photo studios. camera type became famous when heavily modified version of used in u.s. apollo lunar exploration program. outgrowth of experience nasa cameras, photogrammetric version of hasselblad 500 el/m, hasselblad mk 70, constructed specially calibrated components.


x-system

the dual-format x-system comprised xpan , xpan ii, , hasselblad s first camera use 35mm film. built rubber-covered titanium , aluminium body, designed coupled rangefinder camera interchangeable, compact lenses.


the xpan cameras re-branded versions of fuji tx-1 , tx-2. xpan ii has every feature of original, grants user ability record thirty-minute exposures compared old limit of 3 minutes. electronic exposure information in viewfinder additional feature of xpan ii.


the xpan reverted focal plane shutter, offering 8–1/1000 s, , flash sync b (max. 270 s) – 1/125 s.

h-system

hasselblad launched h-system @ photokina in september 2002.


h1

the h1 departed previous hasselblad cameras in several respects. hasselblad moved away traditional 6×6 format 6×4.5 cm, , included autofocus lenses.


the camera used fujinon manufactured lenses , prisms, departing hasselblad s long association carl zeiss when comes lens manufacturing. shutter in lenses still manufactured hasselblad body. hasselblad invited both phaseone , kodak develop digital backs h-system.

h1d

identical h1, sold bundled hasselblad-branded imacon 22mp ixpress coupled 40gb image bank allowed shooting of 850 images in 1 session. camera used included digital back. hasselblad s first integrated dslr.


h2

hasselblad has built h2 cross-platform camera new single-battery operation of camera new ixpress cfh digital back, offering 1 on/off switch , 1 operating system, facilitating streamlined, integrated operation. existing digital backs in market, h2 delivers exact functionality of h1. h2 camera discontinued in october 2007.


h2d

first hasselblad camera shoot new raw format called 3fr. conversions 3f files done in flexcolor or phocus. can utilize cf card. no longer necessary shoot image bank via link cable. firewire 800 capable. new metering patterns match larger sensors. new lithium ion 1,850 mah battery introduced power both h2d body , digital back. 2nd generation integrated dslr.


h2f

the h2f can used either film camera or digital camera when mated hasselblad cf31, cf22, cf22 ms, cf39, or cf39 ms back. identical h2, camera created lock out other digital providers h-series platform. h2f compatible of h lenses, including hcd 24mm, hcd 28mm, , new hcd 35-90mm zoom lens.


h3d

the new h3d offered (software) functionality provided better integration between camera, viewfinder , earlier h1 or h2 provide. these 2 h-system cameras, after all, not designed digital cameras, h2 carrying legacy of h1. hasselblad s official position on move was:

in june 2016, hasselblad announced x1d-50c, first of new line of medium-format mirrorless cameras. x1d comparable in size current full-frame digital slrs, equipped 43.8 x 32.9 mm cmos sensor. camera uses new xcd mount, 2 lenses available sale. @ same time, h-mount adapter announced, allowing lenses h systems used full autofocus. company has since announced total of 9 xcd lenses available end of 2018.
