out of 336 eligible division teams, 68 participate in tournament. of total, 15 division teams ineligible due failing meet apr requirements, self-imposed postseason bans, or reclassification lower division.


of 32 automatic bids, 31 given programs won conference tournaments. final time, ivy league awarded ncaa tournament bid team best regular-season record , did not hold tournament (unless playoffs games needed resolve tied champions). ivy league hold postseason tournament first time after 2016–17 ivy league season. remaining 36 bids granted on at-large basis, extended ncaa selection committee teams deems best 36 teams did not receive automatic bids.
