arsenal

taylor joined arsenal in 1997 youth player. loaned out several times – bristol rovers (23 september – 23 october 1999), crystal palace (9 august – 1 october 2000), peterborough united (15 february – 15 march 2001) , leicester city (18 november 2004 – 23 january 2005). in 8 years @ arsenal club s second or third-choice keeper. did make ten league appearances in arsenal s 2001–02 premiership-winning season, qualifying him winners medal, although achieved in final match against everton, title won. taylor on 9 appearances richard wright started game. wenger substituted him taylor on 85 minutes entitled winners medal.

cardiff city (loan)

in bid find first team football, taylor began search short term loan deal @ football league side, entering talks league 1 side leeds united. however, on 13 march 2009, last minute offer cardiff city prompted taylor instead opt championship side on one-month loan deal, becoming third goalkeeper sign on loan @ club during season, after tom heaton , dimitrios konstantopoulos. made debut side 2 days later in 1–1 draw bristol city.

taylor continued first choice cardiff throughout first month @ club, despite return of tom heaton injury, , loan deal extended end of season. however, following 6–0 defeat preston north end, taylor dropped side final 3 games of season. @ end of campaign, returned villa park.

manchester city

taylor signed manchester city on free transfer on 23 june 2009, following expiration of contract @ end of 2008–09 season. officially became manchester city player on 1 july 2009. taylor admitted taking advice brad friedel, had worked manager mark hughes , goalkeeping coach kevin hitchcock @ blackburn rovers. on 18 july 2009, when manchester city played south african team orlando pirates, taylor conceded first 2 goals club. found himself third in pecking order behind joe hart , shay given.

reading announced on 13 july 2012 taylor training them , play part in first team friendly afc wimbledon on 14 july 2012. on 20 august 2012 reading manager brian mcdermott announced had signed taylor on 1-year contract. injuries both adam federici , alex mccarthy saw taylor make reading debut on 2 march in 3–1 defeat everton in premier league. taylor played against former club arsenal on 30 march 2013 in 4–1 loss @ emirates stadium. taylor signed new one-year deal reading, keeping him @ club till june 2014, on 2 august 2013.

on 18 november 2013, taylor joined fellow championship side yeovil town on initial one-month loan deal. taylor s loan yeovil cut short without making competitive appearance after 2 days due personal reasons .

leeds united

on 3 july 2014, taylor signed one-year contract leeds united. taylor revealed hoping challenge number 1 spot, after revealing leeds looking sign goalkeeper. on 8 july, leeds signed new number 1 goalkeeper in marco silvestri chievo verona. on 1 august, taylor assigned leeds number 13 shirt 2014–15 season.

taylor made leeds united debut on 12 august 2014, starting league cup match against accrington stanley. taylor started leeds on 27 august in 2–1 defeat against bradford city in league cup.

taylor made league debut in game against charlton athleltic on 18 april 2015 in 2–1 loss, taylor giving away penalty.

on 13 may 2015, upon expiry of contract, leeds announced not renewing taylor s contract @ club.

southampton

on 26 august 2016, after year without club, taylor joined southampton on one-year contract. on 13 july 2017, southampton announced taylor s contract had been extended year.
