ashok rajgopal born on september 30, 1953, in bengaluru, in south indian state of karnataka. graduated in medicine (mbbs) armed forces medical college, pune university in 1974 , went higher studies india institute of medical sciences, new delhi obtained master of surgery (ms), in 1978. followed stint of studies @ university of liverpool and, in 1983, secured degree of mch. fellow of international medical sciences academy - fimsa (1996) , fellow of royal college of surgeons of edinburgh (2010).


dr. rajgopal did internship @ central hospital of northern railways @ new delhi in 1975. did junior residency @ india institute of medical sciences, new delhi, after did post graduation in orthopaedics there. march 1979 august 1980 , did senior residency @ safdarjung hospital, new delhi. thereafter, continued higher studies, followed senior residency @ ormskirk general hospital, lancashire, united kingdom, till 1985.


after returning india, in 1985, started independent orthopaedic practice @ sehgal neurological research institute, new delhi, , @ moolchand hospital, new delhi, senior consultant orthopedic surgeon. in 1996 joined sitaram bhartia institute of science , research, new delhi, senior orthopaedic consultant . in 2004, joined fortis hospital, new delhi worked director of orthopedic department till joined medanta, in 2009.


in october 2009, dr. ashok rajgopal joined medanta, multi speciality hospital in gurgaon, haryana , serving chairman of bone , joint institute, in hospital. in july 2016, dr. ashok rajgopal joined fortis memorial research institute, gurgaon , fortis escorts. okhla executive director , chairman fortis bone , joint institute. associated health n heal, organization promoting medical tourism, offers medical treatment packages patients world over, advisory board member.
