a sage name loka saranga came river kaveri drawing water temple. panar in deep devotion , unaware of surroundings missed voice of saranga asking him leave way. sage threw small stone in direction wake him, stone accidentally hit forehead of paanar , started bleed. paanar realised happening , quietly retired. unaware of injury caused panaar, sage returned temple. taken aback on seeing blood oozing out forehead of image of ranganatha. night, vishnu appeared in dream of loka saaranga , commanded him fetch paanar temple next morning in shoulders. accordingly, lokasaranga requested paanar come temple. but, paanar, referring lowly birth, declined enter holy place. when told of vishnu s commandment, paanar beside himself , lost in deep trance. loka saaranga said if objection, carry him on shoulders temple. when reached sanctum, paanar experienced bliss of ranganatha , composed amalan adhipiraan poem describing beauty head foot of vishnu in ten verses , laid life @ feet of deity. poem considered sweeter sound of music of veena.
