the formation of tria mera goes 2006 guitarist juz cook , drummer matt mcrae started jamming in cairns, australia. after many months of playing together, had full lineup , setlist, metal covers, ready hit local live scene under name deadrise. played 3 shows , featured on channel 9 local news before juz offered join echoed silence, established band.


while echoed silence juz s new full-time band, , matt continued jam , write on side, later pulling metal cover band started few more shows. became evident make anywhere in industry need relocate bigger city. matt moved brisbane in 2008, , juz left echoed silence , followed in 2009.


there many months of rehearsing new material before found new bandmates. scott moss, formerly of brisbane metal band minus life, became band s first frontman. shortly followed mike radeck on bass, , ian konrad on guitar. lineup finalised in april, 2010, officially named tria mera, name project given on myspace juz in 2008.


six months of rehearsals followed before band started tracking debut ep in september ean redman. self-titled ep featured 4 songs; burning horizon, demonic shadows, blind reality , realm beneath us.

before hitting live scene, tria mera played private house party celebrate scott , ian s birthdays. band s first public show played on 26 november 2010 supporting australian band lord. band had pulled majority of crowd using show chance launch debut ep , break local scene.


their efforts recognised when jjj stumbled across band on unearthed website, hand selecting tria mera play main stage @ brisbane leg of soundwave festival alongside iron maiden, queens of stone age, 1 day lion, slash, thirty seconds mars, bullet valentine, stone sour, primus, social distortion, feeder , mxpx/the ataris. performing @ festival slayer, dimmu borgir, murderdolls, devildriver, sevendust , rob zombie.

performing @ soundwave opened doors tria mera, allowing them opportunity draw bigger crowds local shows , build reputation live band breaking out of scene.


in june 2011, original vocalist scott moss announced leaving tria mera due ever growing family , work commitments. next day band begun advertising vacant frontman position, , later organised 1 final farewell show held in august.


the success of ep continued year after release when band nominated , won queensland music award song burning horizon . award presented costa zouliou, former triple j radio announcer. helped keep momentum while band continued searching new frontman.
