6,000 protested in des moines, iowa @ nollen plaza in support of comprehensive immigration reform., april 9


april 10: demonstrations staged in many cities , towns across united states;

atlanta, georgia, @ least 50,000 people rallied both , against amnesty.
boston, massachusetts, approximately 2,000 demonstrators march boston common copley square.
charleston, south carolina, @ least 4,000 people gathered , protested inability of lawmakers agree on legislation lead citizenship.
fort myers, florida, estimated 75,000 people took part in great march affected traffic in nearby areas of march. stream of protesters @ least mile long @ times.
las vegas, well-organized march of approximately 3,000 people held. protesters marched 2 miles jaycee park federal courthouse during first day of clark country spring break, waving mexican , american flags alike. protested in favor of amnesty.
new york city, between 70,000 , 125,000 people demonstrated in front of city hall. senators hillary clinton , chuck schumer spoke @ rally. neither called amnesty, though many of crowd s signs , chants did.
oakland, california, estimated 10,000 people took part in demonstration.
salt lake city, utah, unity rally held @ city-county building; there estimated 15,000 protesters.
san jose, california, estimated 25,000 demonstrators marched several miles king , story city hall. highway access 101 , i-680 closed, causing significant traffic backups.
seattle, between 15,000 , 25,000 marched rally @ federal building speakers in support of demonstrators, such mayor greg nickels , county executive ron sims spoke. 5 thousand expected.


april 11: several protests occurred in nevada.

in las vegas, rally estimated minimum of 300+ held @ cashman center; several important opposition figures showed up, such jim gilchrist, nevada secretary of state, local radio host mark edwards, , numerous state minuteman project branches protest against amnesty.
in carson city, nevada, estimated 200 students walked out of class, rallying in front of governor s mansion.
in reno, nevada, between 2,000 , 4,000 protesters marched through downtown area, university of nevada, reno campus bruce r. thompson federal building, , continued designated spot near meadowood mall. traffic held , diverted along south virginia street during march.


april 13: students several woodburn, oregon (a town large hispanic community) schools marched out of class.
april 19: students various denver high schools , middle schools walked out of class , marched capitol.
april 27: approximately 200 volunteers , supporters built 6 foot high, quarter mile section of barbed wire fencing along mexico , united states border send clear message americans , leaders in washington regarding lack of security @ our borders.
april 28: nuestro himno, spanish language rendition of star spangled banner, played simultaneously on 500 spanish language radio stations across country. president bush denounced effort saying national anthem should sung in english controversy died in few days, after revealed cuban immigrant jon secada had sung anthem in spanish @ bush inauguration ceremony [1], , spanish version of anthem had been commissioned bureau of education of united states in 1919 [2].
