week 1: live playoffs (november 5, 7, & 8)

the live playoffs aired on november 5 , 7, followed results show on november 8. performances intentionally stripped down compared previous seasons, there greater focus on voices of artists. special guests included taylor kinney chicago fire in audience.

week 2 (november 12 & 13)

the live top 12 performances aired on november 12, followed results show on november 13.

from point on in competition, remaining contestants performed live each week, , public s vote determined contestants advanced in competition. unlike previous seasons, rather each team eliminating equal numbers of contestants each week, third season eliminations applied individually without regard contestants team affiliation (meaning artists competed head-to-head against remaining contestants each week), introducing possibility of final 4 without equal team representation.

additionally, producers made changes in voting system regards itunes singles purchases, announced during results show. previous voting via itunes purchases of contestant performances had counted singly during official voting window , accredited live show in concern. of week in competition, if competitor s performance stays within top 10 of itunes top 200 single chart (updated hourly) until close of voting, given itunes bonus multiplies itunes votes made in 24-hour voting window ten. finale s vote count have include cumulative itunes vote total of singles (from top 12 onwards) purchased during , outside of various voting windows, itunes bonus earned.

the live top 10 performances aired on november 19, followed results show on november 20. christina, blake , cee lo brought in ron fair, scott hendricks , jennifer hudson respectively in week s coaching. other special guests included lead actors cast of guys kids in audience.

week 4 (november 26 & 27)

the live top 8 performances aired on november 26, followed results show on november 27. cee lo brought in bill withers, original singer/songwriter of lean on me coach nicholas david week.

with elimination of dez duron, christina aguilera no longer has artist remaining on team. first time in series, not coaches represented in finale.

week 5 (december 3 & 4)

the live top 6 performances aired on december 3, followed results show on december 4. each contestant sang 2 songs, 1 of choice, , 1 of coach s choice. coach cee lo sick during rehearsals, brought in pat monahan, lead singer train, coach artists week, while still choosing team members songs , keeping in touch them on phone.

with eliminations of melanie martinez , amanda brown, adam levine no longer has artist remaining on team.

guest performance: ne-yo – let me love (until learn love yourself) , matchbox twenty – overjoyed .



semifinals: week 6 (december 10 & 11)

the semifinal performances aired on december 10, followed results show on december 11. special guests included howie mandel take , of monsters , men, song little talks covered in non-competition performance, in audience. tony lucca interviewed short while coach last season, adam levine, in sprint skybox.

finals: week 7 (december 17 & 18)

the final performances aired on december 17, followed results show on december 18. each finalist perform 3 times: reprise of past performance, duet coach, , solo performance. special guests included cast of 1600 penn , biggest loser in audience.
